Will signal quality be degraded if I plug in the cable backwards (opposite of the arrow markings on the plugs)?

The arrows mark the way that we suggest connecting your guitar/bass to your amp based on the design and manufacture of the cable for the purpose of creating a directional cable.
If you hook it up backwards you may or may not get noise, depending on conditions. Noise is unpredictable and random.
